We are very fortunate to live in a community that provides outstanding opportunities to our young people. Our academic and extra-curricular offerings are nothing short of amazing. While it often seems like Saline is perfect, there are quite a few of our neighbors that sometimes need a helping hand.
This Saturday, August 20, Saline Area Social Services has asked the cross country athletes to help with a project to help our neighbors. They need us to collect food donations that will be made that day. In summary, small groups of athletes will drive to neighborhoods, collect donations left in driveways, and shuttle those donations to SASS’s offices downtown.
We need drivers and people to ride with them.
If you are available on Saturday from noon until about 3:00PM, we would like for you to commit to serving our community. So that we can better plan, on Tuesday, we will ask our male athletes if they can commit to helping that Saturday. For our female athletes, we will ask for commitments on Wednesday. So, on Tuesday or Wednesday, be able to say whether or not you will be able to help on Saturday.
More details will come as we get closer to Saturday. For now, we just need an idea of how many riders/drivers we can get to help.
